For some reason, the manufacturer of the Model 810 hand wand made two different versions that were not compatible. They look identical but are not compatible. There are two ways to tell the difference in these models. Compare the ends of the hand control cords or compare the junction boxes.
HAND CONTROL CORDS
Unplug the hand control cord from both the hand control and the junction box under the bed. Place each end of the cord nose to nose like two snakes looking at each other, with the clips up. If the color of the wires in the plug are the same across from each other, you have the currently available model. If the color of the wires in the plug are the reverse of each other, you have the discontinued model. The pin functions in the hand control have different functions so you cannot just change the hand control cord. If you have this version you must replace the hand wand, cord, and junction box with the current version. You will need to move the location of two of the wires in the lift motors. A diagram will be included.
JUNCTION BOXES
CURRENTLY AVAILABLE VERSION
The current version plugged into a junction box that only had plugs for lift motors. There are two spaces beside those plugs, intended for massage motors. In some instances the plastic housing over these spaces are still in place. You cannot see the circuit board underneath. In others, the holes are open but there are no plugs there. You can see the green circuit board underneath.
DISCONTINUED VERSION
The discontinued version was matched with a junction box that had plugs for massage motors, even though it does not operate massage motors. If you have this version you must replace the hand wand, cord, and junction box with the current version. You will need to move the location of two of the wires in the lift motor plugs. A diagram will be included.
